The juvenile court system is significantly different than the adult court system. Juvenile court focuses on rehabilitation rather than punishment. Often, very lenient sentences may be obtained through skilled advocacy and an understanding of the juvenile court system. However, juveniles over the age of 14 who have been charged with sexual or violent felony charges may also be transferred to adult court where they face significantly harsher penalties. Elizabeth Mullins has represented juveniles in both juvenile court and adult court. She is also well versed in the time limits for sex offender therapy and sex offender registration for juveniles.
